Free Shakespeare Acting Workshops for Schools

Bring Shakespeare off the page and into the body.

This interactive workshop introduces students to Shakespeare through an actor’s approach to language—exploring intention, imagery, rhythm and physical expression rather than analysis alone. Students actively embody the text, discovering how meaning emerges through speaking and performing.

Designed for high school students of all experience levels.

WHAT WILL STUDENTS DO?

Students will:

  • Speak and explore Shakespeare’s language aloud

  • Work hands-on with short scenes and speeches

  • Use movement and voice to understand character and intention

  • Build confidence with heightened language

  • Collaborate in a supportive ensemble environment

No prior acting experience required.

WORKSHOP OPTIONS

  • 1-hour or 2-hour sessions

  • During class time or after school

  • Flexible for class size and experience level

  • Free of charge
