Maureen O’Neal is honored to have been given the chance to play so many important characters and to costume "Indecent" as well. She filled the designs with her signature handmade crocheted pieces and purposeful historic details to convey the richness of every character and their journeys through time. This beautiful play was a unique opportunity to explore her husband's culture, her own Queer experience, and to share her love of history. You may remember her as both costumer and Puck in ESP's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and Edwin Drood in Other Voices Theatre's "The Mystery of Edwin Drood. As always, her performance is dedicated to Jaime, Billy, Norm, Mama, and Teresa, her greatest supporters who are no longer watching from the audience. This play is for them, and especially for the "6 million [who] have left the theater" and the Queer leaders and activists that paved the way for this show to be performed. She offers the most sincere thank you for coming to share this celebratory and emotional experience at a time when we need it most.
