CALLING ALL TEENS (ages 13-19) -- We are looking for 12 - 25 teen actors for this Shakespearean inspired comedy - part of the Frederick Shakespeare Festival

 

Playing Sky Stage in Frederick, MD on July 28, 29, and two shows on the 31st 

 

AUDITIONS are ONLINE OVER ZOOM, on June 7th - AND IN-PERSON at the Frederick Arts Council's 2nd Street Building on June 8th. --IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO MAKE THE AUDITION DATES PLEASE CONTACT US

 

Callbacks are IN-PERSON on June 10th (if necessary.)

 

The show, will be LIVE and in person in FREDERICK, MD. Rehearsals will be via Zoom (just a few) and in-Person (mostly.) 

 

SHOW DESCRIPTION:

A fast-paced 45 minute comedy featuring spoofs of three of Shakespeare's most famous works (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, MacBeth, and Hamlet) each hilariously performed in under 10 minutes - What could possibly go wrong? 

 

FEATURED CHARACTERS: (over 40 Characters to be played by 10-25 actors)

 

-Storytellers (more than just your typical narrators!)

 

Spoof-y versions of Shakespeare's iconic characters, including:

 

       From A Midsummer Night's Dream

       -Puck -Oberon -Titania -Helena -Hermia -Lysander -Demetrius -Bottom

       -Quince 

 

        From MacBeth

        -MacBeth -Lady MacBeth -Witches -Banquo -MacDuff -Malcom -King Duncan          -Lady MacDuff -MacDuff Jr

        From Hamlet

        -Hamlet -Claudius -Gertrude -Laertes -Rosencrantz & Guildenstern

        -King Hamlet (Ghost) -Ophilia -Horatio -Fortenbras

 

And lots of Ensemble Roles!

REHEARSALS: Our current plan is to start the week of 6/20, three days a week depending on availability. 

 

 

**We will be taking all CDC, Maryland, and Frederick government issued restrictions and recommended precautions to keep everyone safe during the entirety of rehearsals and performances. Your vaccination status will be asked but you are NOT REQUIRED to be vaccinated to participate.**

 

**BY SIGNING UP FOR AUDITIONS YOU ARE AGREEING TO SIGN A PHOTO AND MEDIA RELEASE FORM (ALL ACTORS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 WILL REQUIRE A PARENT/GUARDIAN SIGNATURE). ACTORS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE UNTIL THE RELEASE FORM HAS BEEN SIGNED.**
